RTD Lead-Wire Error
How much extra series lead resistance shifts the indicated IEC 60751 temperature.
Instrumentation & ControlsThermal & HVAC
How much extra series lead resistance shifts the indicated IEC 60751 temperature.
App id: INST-24. Reference version 1.0.
How to fill it
Fill the inputs. The tool shows the outputs.
On the tool screen, Calc is the working sheet. Presets stores values you reuse. Reference is the formula, assumptions, and provenance below.
Formula
T_error = T(R + R_lead) − T(R)Inputs
| Name | Unit |
|---|---|
| RTD resistance (camera) | ohm |
| Total lead resistance | ohm |
| R0 (100 = Pt100) (optional) | ohm |
Outputs
| Name | Unit |
|---|---|
| Temperature error (°C) (hero result) | 1 |
| True temperature | C |
| Indicated temperature | C |
Diagnose
This tool does not attach diagnose observations.
Assumptions
- Temperature error is a difference, so °C and K display the same increment.
Provenance
- 2-wire: enter both leads. 3- and 4-wire compensation is not modeled — this is the uncompensated error.
